Enrique and "The Butter"
Monday, September 18, 2006:
Once Again, I Have Proved my Lack of Coordination So we can add kickball to the sports that I have hurt myself playing. Who know kicking around a large, red ball could be so dangerous? In the midst of playing a rousing game of kickball tonite, I was getting rather into this game as it was close all the way through. I went up to kick deciding I wanted to kick it towards third in hopes of getting on base (this is my typical strategy as I don't have a very strong kick). So I go up, kick it towards third, and am running frantically towards the first base...when all of a sudden, as my foot touches the base, the first baseman and I somehow get tangled up, and I, of course, go flying into the base and land smack dab on the ground, sprawled out on the grass for all of the kickball world to see....So that was great. I felt like a complete moron, so I quickly get up, and pretend nothing hurts. Actually, nothing did hurt initially. Then, about 10 minutes later, I can feel my arm starting to ache where I had landed pretty hard. Let's recap all of my injuries - I swear I had my lung punctured playing touch football, although my mom insists I would have not been able to breathe properly if I had, but what does she know anyway because it hurt like a banchee for weeks! Then, I played broomball this past winter where I fell on my tail bone on the ice. Another Heather orginal moment. And now my kickball incident, although I am hoping this doesn't turn out to be a full-blown sports injury because that would just be way too embarassing.
At any rate, I have successfully finished the year of the wedding! Shasta's wedding was this past weekend, and oh, what a great time it was! I think some highlights included enjoying the lovely Mexican fiesta going on next door to the ceramony where we enjoyed taking a picture in our bridesmaid dresses with a large, blown up gecko...and we can't forget riding the school bus around to the bar after the ceramony. And really - would it have been as fun if there hadn't been a little Enrique "Escape" played at the reception for us college girls to dance around crazily too?? I think not, dear friends. All in all, great time...the wedding season turned out to be excellent with some pretty fun memories and lots of great pictures...good times had by all.
